Biography

Paul is an artist and academic writer based in London. His practice moves between painting, silver gelatin photography, illustration, and mixed-media installation, held together by a sustained interest in what surfaces remember.

He studied fine art at the Slade and art history at the Courtauld, and holds a doctorate from Humboldt University on material phenomenology in late-modernist painting. His writing has appeared in October, Cabinet, Art Journal Quarterly, and Triple Canopy.

His work has been exhibited at Galerie Nordwest, Künstlerhaus Bethanien, C/O London, Tate Exchange, transmediale, the Linnaean Society, and MMK Frankfurt. He is currently a research affiliate at the London Academy of Fine Arts.
