I am suspicious of reading lists that pretend to comprehensiveness. This is not one of those. It is, more honestly, a list of seven things that have been within arm's reach of the desk this spring, and that I have actually opened more than once.
Each entry is followed by a sentence about why it stayed on the desk rather than being shelved.
